Ear candles are a traditional method of healing that originates from India. They provide a relaxing and warming treatment for the ear, sinus and circulation of the lymphatic system.
It is a highly beneficial treatment for people with ear infections, ear ache, sinus infections, allergies, compromised immunity or general congestion.
Ear Candling has the following Benefits:
- Reduces congestion from the build up of ear wax
- Reduces congestion from colds and flu
- Reduces congestion from swimming, surfing and air travel.
In some people the glands produce more wax than can be easily excreted out of the ear, causing blockage. In attempt to clean the ears, may cause wax to become pushed further into the canal. Blockages may occur due to pressure changes like swimming, surfing or flying.
What Does Ear Wax Do?
Ear wax is one of the body’s natural defences. It protects the ear by trapping dust, micro-organisms and foreign particles, therefore preventing them from entering and damaging the ear.
Where Does Ear Wax Come From?
The outer section of the ear is the funnel-like canal section which extends from the pinna (the ear flap on the side of the head) to the eardrum. The skin of the ear canal is lined with hair follicles and glands that produce the waxy oil called cerumen.
